Expert Insights

The Migration Calendar

January-March: calving in southern Serengeti. April-May: herds move northwest (rainy season). June-July: herds in western corridor. August-October: Mara river crossings (northern Serengeti). November-December: herds return south.

Ngorongoro Crater Fees

The Ngorongoro Crater has some of the highest park fees in Africa. Budget $295 for the vehicle descent fee plus $70/person/day. It is worth every dollar for the wildlife density, but plan your budget accordingly.
